Help Improve the living conditions for elephants in captivity.
Captive-held elephants protect Chitwan’s wildlife and patrol from sunrise to sunset. These elephants are used exclusively for daily anti-poaching patrols and not for tourism purposes. The elephants’ corrals are stationed with army posts in a joint anti-poaching effort with hundreds of Nepal’s Army anti-poaching squad. The elephant patrols do not have access to the right materials to care for these elephants, and they are in need of proper care to continue doing the work they do.
GreaterGood.org partners with Elephant Aid International to provide education and hands-on assistance to improve the lives of captive held elephants worldwide. EAI is creating innovative and workable solutions that improve the lives of elephants and the people who care for them. EAI wants to offer alternatives to the use of chains to control and contain elephants, eliminate abusive training by educating the trainers on humane methods of care, and provide foot care for captive elephants.
You can help. Just $6.25 will buy one foot of chain free corral fencing. You can help these elephants have better living conditions and live happier lives.
Elephant Aid International (EAI) is a nonprofit organization that creates innovative approaches to the care and management of elephants. With the combined efforts of international scientists, veterinarians, mahouts, elephant owners and elephant welfare supporters, EAI is helping to change how the public relates to elephants; how elephant owners view their elephants; how mahouts (elephant handlers) and elephant caregivers train elephants; and how captive elephants are cared for worldwide. By providing education and hands-on assistance, EAI is working to end the worldwide suffering of elephants…one elephant at a time.
