This GivingTuesday, will YOU give the gift of life-saving early breast cancer detection?
Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in less developed countries and the second leading cause of cancer death in the U.S, constituting 1 in 4 of all cancers in women. Early detection and treatment are crucial--if the disease is caught early enough, the five-year survival rate is 96%. Mammograms are still the most effective early detection method available, but many women simply cannot afford the test.
That’s why this GivingTuesday, GreaterGood is hosting a mammography drive to provide free screenings. Your donations fully funded the only mammography machine in Sierra Leone, which has already helped close to 1,000 women receive mammograms, detecting 485 abnormalities, including stage 4 cancer. We urgently need your help to screen the 1,200 women still on the waiting list, saving more lives.
Your gift will ensure that women have access to mammograms, knowledgeable oncologists, and the necessary treatments. This GivingTuesday, give the gift of hope to women at risk of breast cancer.
