Help rebuild the Montclair Township Animal Shelter in Morristown, New Jersey after damaging fire.

In 2016, the Montclair Township Animal Shelter was ravaged by a fire that started in their dog kennel, destroying it and damaging much of the shelter. Thanks to quick-thinking staff and helpful passersby, all animals and people evacuated without injury, but the damage had been done. The shelter was forced to close until the summer of 2018. With the help of George to the Rescue, the shelter has had some renovations to their outdoor dog runs, but is still in need of major work. That’s where Rescue Rebuild steps in and we need YOUR help!
In late January 2020, the team is planning to build out new cat rooms, add cubbies and portals, and make more accommodations for the shelter’s children program, where children can read to cats. This project will help to increase capacity, but more importantly, these additions have shown to help decrease length of stay for shelter pets and increase the quality of the care the shelter pets receive while waiting for their forever homes, like Hayes.
Hayes arrived at the shelter after he had been found near-dead. He was dirty and matted and had a large gash on his head. Shelter staff weren’t sure he was going to survive. Luckily, Hayes made a miraculous recovery and his temporary home at the Montclair Township Animal Shelter made him as comfortable as they could. Hayes found his forever family and it is our hope to make more stories like this possible.
YOU can help! Donate today and Boehringer Ingelheim will match all donations, dollar for dollar, up to $20,000 to help make this project a reality.
